What unites loafer and oxford lovers is their need for comfortable, unisex shoes that go with everything, without being too casual or too dressy. But for those who can’t decide which shoe is better, we rounded up some ways to wear each one:
For the weekend, pair your shoe of choice with over the knee or 3/4 pants, a t-shirt or shirt, and a cozy knit. We love both Maritsa‘s loafer outfit and Jess Hannah‘s oxford one, so ruling a favorite is close to impossible.
For casual workwear, just pair your favorite black trousers with a comfortable sweater, loafers/oxfords, and an oversized clutch. Pictured here in loafers is a stylish model at Paris Fashion Week, versus a Seoul woman in oxfords. Again, a very close tie.
For a feminine approach on flats, go with a full skirt in your preferred length and a nice top. Of course, sunglasses are in order this time of the year, and you can’t go wrong with a clutch. Both these ladies (shot by Vanessa Jackman and Collage Vintage, respectively) rocked the feminine look with a smile on their faces.
What about you? Are you Team Loafers or Team Oxfords? Either way, we got you covered: the Illusion loafer (in leather or suede) and Iceberg oxford (in three color versions) from our Black and Blue collection are the perfect everyday shoes!
With the weather finally warming up, we’re sweeping the dust off our pretty sandals and thinking of new ways to style them for spring. Are you ready? Here are three chic outfit ideas that we think you’re gonna love:
Pair a sheer blouse with a pastel floral skirt, and you’re halfway through the perfect outfit. Give it a little edge with a denim jacket (yes, you can reuse the one from your teen years) and statement sandals such as our Hikari. Opt for a neutral bag, sunglasses, and lipstick color, and layer as many bead necklaces as you have to complete the look.
Nothing is lighter and more comfortable than a loose white shirt dress! Team it with soft tones of pink and beige in the form on nail polish, handbag, sunglasses and footwear (pictured here is our James Biscuit). Some chunky jewelry and a little color on your lips, and you’re good to go.
sandals make a great team with a white and blue outfit. Go for high-waist shorts and a crisp white crop shirt as the base of this look, and accessorize with fun pops of color such as a flower-shaped bag and a silk scarf wrapped on your head.
We’ve been fans of Christie Brown even before our 2012 collaboration for Arise Magazine Fashion Week. Ghanaian designer Aisha Oboubi never ceases to amaze us with her unique reinterpretations of Africa for the modern woman!
The Christie Brown SS15 collection is a fantastic melange of spring colors and African-inspired accents, complete with flowy silhouettes and stunning prints. There’s nothing quite like this combination of pink and yellow to make you think of ice cream cones, is there? Our favorite piece has to be the above pink dress, with the bejeweled collar and marked waist, a real spring delight. And while we’re team heels all the way, we appreciate the comfortable flat shoes the models are wearing on the catwalk.

With Coachella happening this weekend, we’re about to be bombarded with pictures of celebrities looking fabulous. And that’s fine – they’re inspiring enough for the whole summer! One of our favorite regular attendees is Solange Knowles, who manages to keep her elegance and signature style time after time. These are five of her best festival appearances in our opinion: In 2013, Solange wowed us with a fun lemon print dress from Alice + Olivia, featuring an open back. She paired it with matching platform heels and a box clutch, her signature natural hair and, of course, Coachella bracelets. For her performance the same year, the singer looked dashing in a white wrap tank top, a neon floral midi skirt by J.Crew, and medium block heel sandals. While we love the look for the festival, one could just as well wear it in the city through summer! For her famous duet with sister Beyonce in 2014, Solange wore an orange romper with a matching three-quarters sleeve jacket from Max Mara. Her light-colored ankle boots featured an open heel and an ankle strap, making the whole outfit pleasant and visibly fun to wear.Yellow is definitely Solange’s color! Here, she opted for a Paper London two piece with wide leg crop pants and a crop top, which looks very flattering with the comfortable, flat golden sandals and tiny clutch. This is probably the most festivaly look of the bunch, from 2011, with Solange wearing a bandeau top, printed maxi skirt and flat sandals. The earth tones and lack of pretentiousness make this look natural and fully attainable.
You may remember Anita Quansah from the SS15 capsule collection that we collaborated on, Armour. She made our sandals shine with small but terrific details, such as feathers or bead-work. Anita has previously worked with the likes of Diane von Furstenberg and Calvin Klein and has been named “Best Accessory Designer of the year” at the Fashion Finest Awards and GUBA Awards.
When it comes to jewellery, Anita borrows from her Nigerian, Ghanaian and British roots, but never goes without a perfectly modern touch. Her statement pieces are dominant, yet graceful, they’re like an elegant armor that breathes effortlessness. The combinations of materials may at times be surprising, but they always look spectacular. We especially love this photo shoot, with few details to distract from the beauty of the accessories. They’re serene but powerful, just like Anita Quansah jewellery.
A few years ago, Angela Simmons had a pair of Mo-Saique shoes custom made for her, and we’re happy to see she still enjoys wearing them! Last week, the 27-year old rocked her neon green Gabrielle sandals while in Miami, and shared a bunch of pictures of her outfit on Instagram.
The look is absolutely perfect for the hot Florida weather, as Angela paired her Mo-Saique heels with a flamingo print silk jacket from H&M (available here), rock & roll nail art and plenty of bling on her fingers and wrists. One could say she captured the essence of the city, while still managing to show off her personal style.
What do you think of Angela’s outfit?
